As a division of OLSON LEWIS + Architects, Blue Sky continues its mission to design the ultimate environments enabling our clients to provide excellent care to animals.

Animal care environments require a specialized understanding of behavior, medicine, operations, and the emotional experience of every visitor. Our Animal Care Studio designs facilities that support excellent care while reducing stress for animals, staff, volunteers, and the people who arrive with them.

‍
Our experience includes animal shelters, adoption centers, veterinary hospitals, emergency and specialty care environments, clinics, and related support spaces. We work closely with leadership and care teams to understand daily operations, patient and animal movement, infection control, acoustics, equipment, staffing, and future growth. Those insights guide planning decisions that improve flow, safety, efficiency, and comfort.

‍
Thoughtful design can also strengthen an organization’s mission. Welcoming adoption areas encourage meaningful connections. Calm reception and exam spaces can ease anxiety. Durable, cleanable materials support long-term performance, while natural light, visual separation, and acoustic control contribute to healthier environments. Behind every public-facing space is an operational network designed to help staff work effectively and compassionately.

‍
From early facility assessment and strategic planning through design and construction, we help clients align their buildings with their standards of care. The result is a purposeful environment built around animal well-being, effective operations, and the people committed to serving them.
