OLSON LEWIS + Architects’ Animal Care Studio designed a 26,000 sf facility for the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, bringing adoption, veterinary care, intake, administration, and education together under one roof. The building supports the organization’s work with animals and the broader community.
The plan balances animal comfort with efficient staff workflows. Flexible layouts allow spaces to adapt as programs change, while sustainable design strategies support the shelter’s long-term operation. The facility gives ARLGP a connected setting for daily care, adoption, education, and community engagement.
