Rooted in the English Arts and Crafts tradition, Maple Cove Cottage is shaped by the changing life of the harbor and the natural character of its site. Views shift with the tides, light, weather, and seasons, animated by sailboats, the nearby village, and the landscape surrounding the water.
The entrance hall acts as a bridge between the front and back of the house, offering arriving guests a framed glimpse through the maple trees to the harbor beyond. Inside, a stone fireplace surround replicates an antique from the clients’ former home, carrying a familiar element into its new setting. Custom millwork conceals the television behind sliding doors that, when closed, form an eight-panel artwork. Laser-cut maple-leaf reliefs reference the trees outside, bringing the landscape and the home’s craftsmanship together in a quiet, personal detail.
