Named for Pingree School’s first headmaster, William Rogers, Rogers House was built shortly after the turn of the 20th century and has served the school for several decades. The renovation transforms the former faculty residence into a 4,000 sf home for the head of school and family while restoring the building’s classical Colonial proportions.
The interior balances private family life with the ceremonial responsibilities of the school. Formal reception rooms provide a welcoming setting for trustees, donors, prospective students, and their families, while the residential spaces maintain a comfortable sense of home.
Outside, a private yard is screened from the formal campus grounds, creating a protected family play area beside the primary living spaces. Terraces elsewhere around the house open toward views of the school, playing fields, surrounding woodlands, and pastures.
