Powder House Village is a mixed-use development with forty-eight affordable housing units and two commercial units.Commercial tenants include an Institution for Savings Bank branch and the YMCA. The YMCA runs an on-site preschool that enrolls 24 children and an after-school program that serves 40 to 60 children each week.The YMCA of the North Shore manages the affordable housing units in Ipswich and over 300 units in surrounding communities. Powder House tenants receive free membership to the YMCA, which is within walking distance, directly behind the housing units.
