320 Bent Street Lobby transforms the entrance to a commercial and life sciences building in Cambridge’s Kendall Square. Designed for Lyme Properties in coordination with Arrowstreet’s core and shell work, the interior gives the building a distinct public identity through color, material, and light.
The palette draws on the work of a Massachusetts pop artist, replacing the muted tones often associated with laboratory buildings with saturated color and graphic geometry. Color blocks and crisp planar intersections turn walls and structural elements into visual markers that guide movement through the lobby. The interior remains visible through the glass façade after dark, extending its presence to the street.
Warm wood paneling and terrazzo flooring balance the colorful feature walls and upholstered millwork. Recessed linear lighting and directional fixtures illuminate the colored surfaces while providing comfortable light for circulation and informal gathering.
