Groton School’s riverfront boathouse renovation and expansion renews an existing 4,200 sf facility to better support the school’s rowing program. The reorganized interior provides more efficient scull storage with a new racking system, along with additional equipment storage, workshop space, team rooms, restrooms, and a new entry and lobby.
The expanded building was reclad and detailed to draw from New England’s tradition of shingle-style boathouses. Classical proportions and materials strengthen its relationship to the riverfront and to the older buildings across Groton’s campus.
