After acquiring an R&D company in the Padova region in 2009, Anika Therapeutics worked with a local architect to develop a new facility for Anika S.r.l. OLSON LEWIS + Architects designed the interiors to connect the workplace with Anika’s Bedford headquarters while giving it an identity rooted in Padova.
Prato della Valle, the city’s monumental oval piazza, inspired the sweeping curves repeated in the floor pattern and ceiling structure. Etched tree patterns on interior glass change in density to create varying levels of privacy between open work areas and enclosed spaces. Drawn from Padua’s historic botanical garden, the graphics bring another familiar element of the city into the workplace.
