Forma Therapeutics’ 36,000 sf headquarters brings 7,000 sf of biology, chemistry, and tissue culture laboratories together with 29,000 sf of offices, conference rooms, collaboration areas, and employee amenities. A central spiral stair connects the three-floor workplace and keeps the laboratories visible as part of the daily experience.

A custom lighting installation descends through the stairwell, with 170 artisanal glass discs arranged to recall red blood cells and Forma’s work in hematology. Large circular pendants illuminate the open office areas, while acoustic versions above informal seating use recycled PET felt to help control ambient noise.

Exposed brick and structural elements preserve the character of the existing building. Color, environmental graphics, and acoustic treatments carry references to Forma’s scientific focus into the lounge and collaboration spaces, connecting the technical and workplace areas through a consistent design language.
