Organon’s 22,000 sf renovation and tenant fit-out brings R&D laboratories, administrative offices, and collaborative spaces together within an upgraded building shell. The $1.8M design takes cues from the company’s parent headquarters in the Netherlands, using daylight, a restrained material palette, bright color, commissioned artwork, and streamlined German laboratory casework.
The lobby and café open to broad views of the Charles River and Boston skyline. A communicating stair links the administrative level with the laboratories below and sits beneath an oversized skylight, drawing daylight vertically through the facility as well as across the floorplate. This connection helps the laboratory and workplace areas read as parts of one organization.
