Established in 1897, Brae Burn Country Club is known for its Donald Ross-designed golf course. OLSON LEWIS + Architects worked with the club on a series of improvements to its pool, paddle tennis, and championship tennis facilities.
The pool house renovation added spacious locker rooms and accessible restrooms for members and guests. A new snack bar supports poolside dining, while an awning shades a portion of the outdoor seating area.
Beside the paddle tennis courts, a new paddle hut provides players and spectators with a warm indoor gathering space and direct views of play. Adjacent decks offer additional courtside viewing. Because the site could not accommodate a ramp, the design incorporates an enclosed lift that provides an accessible route to the courts and paddle hut.
In 2017, OL+ completed a new tennis house with a covered viewing porch overlooking the club’s championship courts. Together, these projects improved access, comfort, and connections between the club’s recreational facilities.
